Luzifer and Kelly Casey scored 63.805 and took 2nd place in the Brentina Cup - Young Rider Grand Prix Test at the 2008 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions held at the Oaks Blenheim in San Juan Capistrano, California on Saturday June 28th, 2008. Kelly CaseyHometown: Livermore, CAHorse: Luzifer (14-year-old Austrian Warmblood gelding; Owned by Carla Hayes)Kelly started riding at the age of 3 and was immediately hooked, and by 7 was competing with her first pony "Joey", at Training level dressage. She had the opportunity to train her first horse at 16, when her family imported a green-broke 6-year old Swedish gelding named "Eliete". Kelly and "Elite" went on to win many CDS and ISDF championships from 1st level to FEI. In 2002, they were members of the Silver Medal Team at the Cosequin Junior Team Championships. Kelly started training dressage riders and showing clients' horses while earning a Bachelors degree in Human Development/Business Administration from California State University, East Bay. After graduating in 2006, Kelly focused exclusively on her training business, KC Dressage. Kelly then won the 2007 USDF Region 7 Championship and CDS Freestyle Championship at the Intermediaire I level with an 8-year old Dutch Warmblood named "Scenario". In the late summer of 2007, Kelly's long-time client, Carla Hayes, imported "Luzifer". By early fall, "Luzifer" and Kelly were the 2007 CDS Intermediaire II champions and are currently showing Grand Prix. Kelly says, "Luzifer, contrary to his name. is as sweet as he is large, and the most willing and hard-working horse I have ever ridden." She has had the opportunity to work with many fabulous international and local trainers and clinicians including Guenter Zach, David Blake, Rachel Saavedra, and Liz Hendrix.
